The HPC program served the Thai community from 2010-2023, promoting health, wellness, and Buddhist practices for Thai immigrants in Ontario. Funded by CAMH, it supported our community's physical and mental wellbeing. Note: This program is no longer in operation.
The Haeng Phra Cham (HPC) Health Promotion Committee was established in 2010 through partnership with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). We integrate Buddhist principles with modern health promotion to support the wellbeing of Thai immigrants in Ontario.
Our unique approach combines traditional Thai wisdom with Canadian healthcare services, addressing both mental and physical health challenges faced by newcomers and established community members.

Monthly workshops on topics including nutrition, chronic disease prevention, mental health awareness, and accessing Canadian healthcare services.
Weekly meditation sessions and Dharma talks combining Buddhist teachings with modern stress management techniques.
Programs addressing family dynamics, intergenerational challenges, and parenting in a new cultural context.
Mobile health services, community health fairs, and partnerships with Thai temples and community organizations.
Assistance with understanding and accessing Ontario's healthcare system, finding Thai-speaking doctors, and medical interpretation.
